This morning completely out of the blue a woman at the post office asked me how is the tax system in France.

Weeks ago in the line for a concert a guy was complaining about people smoking not far from the entrance and he told me "You certainly smoke cause you are french".
?
and so on...
ok, I have to confess I feel that french is still my first foreign language.
(I lived in France when I was a kid and in my early 20's. if you don't speak a perfect french , usually french people don't make the effort to understand, while here nobody cares about your accent...)
But still I don't understand why people here keep assuming I am french.
Do I have a french accent???
